Since 1930 Grether's Pastilles have been distributed in Switzerland by the company Doetsch Grether Ltd. In 1974 the company Allen & Hanburry Ltd, London sold the brand to Doetsch Grether Ltd. At the same time the production was transferred to Switzerland, and the factory in Britain was closed-down.
The top quality of Grether's Pastilles can be traced to the sophisticated and time-consuming production process requiring considerable professional knowledge, specialized facilities, a great deal of experience and hand-work. Before our pastilles are filled into the exclusive, permeable Grether's tin or bag, they must be allowed to mature - a process that lasts 3 months.
One of the premium ingredients in the pastilles is glycerin, which helps to keep mouth and throat moist, protects it and soothes. Agar Agar, a high quality gelling agent derived form the sea red algae, gives the pastilles their silky consistency whilst the natural fruit juices give Grether's Pastilles their delicious taste.
