Voice and Throat

The esophagus and windpipe among others, pass through the throat. The voice box, with its vocal cords, is located in the lower portion of the throat. The human voice is generated by these cords. The voice serves for the exchange of information and for singing. Overstraining of the voice as well as certain diseases can lead to a raw throat, hoarseness, sore throat and dry mouth.
